Fugue to Infinity

Sat Apr 3, 2004, 10:16 AM
I'm writing a book about art and science, and I am intensely interested in everything about the phenomenon of deviantART.com. If you have any ideas about the following, please respond:
• Where did this site come from (in your opinion), and where is it going?
• How has global communications affected creativity?
• Is the internet making art mainstream? (this question can be interpreted in many ways, not necessarily implying that “mainstream” is bad)
• Is deviantART changing the face of “traditional fine art” (the concept of art being viewed in museums and galleries for public consumption)
• Has access to art forums changed the nature of the creative process for many people?
• Is deviantART a valid way to track inspiration?
• Do you think that sites like this are reconciling differences between the cultures of “art” and “science”?
• Do you think that we are living in a period of time that will later be termed a “Renaissance”?

UNICISTIC SOCIETY INC

. . .A very new and inovating ART FORM.. . .Do you have your own personal style with no interface with already excisting art styles?

Maybe you belong to the Unicistic Society then, you should read the defenition and containings . . .and maybe you could join THE UNICISTIC SOCIETY.

Greets, Niek Lekkerkerk. (Founder).

If you can find more members, that would be perfect!

Sometimes there's a right way and a wrong way to do something; and we do neither.

hi! thanks for the watch. :D the reason i got into graffiti? well, i guess i'm just inspired and awed by it. i hope to be good one day. spray paint is also just a cool material to work with. i'm still mostly into the pencil/paper deal, but when i get some more skills and cash for paint.... well, let's say (not to be too cheesy) i'm excited! :D
i would also just like to comment that i really enjoy your sculptures. i'm taking a sculpture class this semester, so i've learned to appreciate it a lot more. i'll try and post some of my sculptures up soon too. :)
but, yeah, i like your simple approach to forms. keep it up! :)

Thanks. Funny how one can just "find" something and get into it. Many years ago I found an interesting book about boomerangs, and started to make my own.

I like minimalistic sculptures, especially focusing on form. Also, welding and metalwork in general is pretty cool. Looking forward to seeing more of you work.

- thanks for the recent fave mate - sorry I didn't do so sooner, seems to have been a busy time just lately - but I guess I shouldn't make excuses for not minding my manners better: anyhow, hope you keep up with what's already looking like an interesting gallery - and welcome to dA...
